How and why I make work.
The biological and physical observations in combination with painterly compositions that I use and experience in my work, apparently have their origin in a number of physical and biological phenomena, which represent information about life.
To better understand this, I analyzed my work process by depicting reasonings and painterly decisions per consideration and in combination with laws in drawings. By analyzing a certain decision and its consequences as much as possible, a 61-part series of ‘maps’ was created, which together form an ‘atlas’ of the how and why of my work.
